HERE AND NOW
It's there in your mind there's another way
so deep in your mind, but another way
you'll find it somehow, but another day
what matters now is here and now.
You toss in your sleep then you wake again
she's there in the dream where she's always been
but dreams are not real though they play again
they're foolish hope of here and now.
Up there on the wall, and it's there to stay
the image of her from a yesterday
it fades on the wall then comes back to stay
onto the dark of here and now.
You cry one more time then you cry again
your pillow's no friend but it hears again
the sound in your mind where it's always been
her voice keeps stealing here and now.
You say to yourself I'll forget some day
you lie to yourself I'll forget some day
though time is a thief, it can't take away
what you have made of here and now.
Then back to a sleep like it's always been
to dreams that begin but they never end
to time of a love that has never been
into the deep of here and now.
.
OH MY GOD
The time has come, as taken is your breath,
your friend, your love, your only hope is death.
Breathe deep, the dark is coming on,
breathe deep, you know your life is gone,
now feel the love that's only felt in death.
You stare into her eyes, and think it odd,
the only words that come, is, "Oh my God..."
as facing truth of what's to be,
the gift of sight we never see,
as death echoe's the phrase of "Oh my God..."
There's nothing more, until you see the light,
there's nothing more, until the end of night,
and blinded in the light you see,
the more to come, is more of me,
as love and death bring on the end of night.
You stare into her eyes, is death not odd,
and just a breath away from "Oh, my God?"
the light consumes all you have been,
you'll only miss it, now and then,
as we embrace our death, and "Oh, my God."
