MULBERRY STAINS
This summer rain brings releif from the sun,
it's just a shower all too soon it's done,
mulberry stains on the sidewalk seldom fade
I see the patterns they have made,
all through the years, there's an image of you
deep purple stained as only time can do,
artists will try and capture how you might feel
they see your smile is never real.
From my front porch I can see every pain,
etched in your life like a mulberry stain,
sun blotted images that will not go away,
I sit and cry for you today.
